    • Every village in Montafon has its own large fire on the evening of the Sunday after carnival.
    The days before local people have built enormous piles of wood with in the top a witch.
    On Sunday evening the pile is set in light.

    In old days more or less a bonfire that is supposed to drive out the winter. Nowadays a popular custom with music and of course a 'Schnaps'.

    In Vorarlberg Funkensonntag is also named: Holepfannsonntag or Küachlisonntag.
    'Funkensonntag' is hold on the Sunday following Ash Wednesday.
    In 2008 this local custom will be on 10.02.2008.
