Getting TO/AROUND: Most of the tourists site in Apeldoorn are situated outside the city centre. To reach them you will need transportation, either by bus or bicycle. Some of my ‘off the beaten path’ tips are only accessible by car or bike and sometimes very hard by public (bus)transportation.

You will notice a lot of Dutch people use bikes every day, specially for transportation within the cities.

So just join us and rent a bike from your hotel, b&b or hostel.

Getting TO/AROUND: Apeldoorn has a dense system of public transportation. You can use the city and regional busses to reach your destination within the city boundaries. Central point is the bus station close to the train station in the middle of the city. That is also the place were you have to change busses.

It is possible to buy a return ticket for just ONE euro and is valid on all the lines in the city.
You can buy these ticket from the chauffeur.

Getting TO/AROUND: Apeldoorn is situated more or less in the middle of the Netherlands. It is very easy accessible as well by car as by public transportation.

Train
The city is situated along the main line between the eastern and western parts of the Netherlands; with cities like Enschede, Deventer, Amersfoort, Utrecht, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. There is also a direct connection with Schiphol Airport.
To reach the northern or southern part of the country you have to change trains in either Deventer or Utrecht.

Bus
Apeldoorn is the 'capital' of the Veluwe, one of the most important tourist areas in the Netherlands with a lot of very interesting sites to visit. From Apeldoorn most villages on and most cities along the Veluwe are accessible by public busses with many lines and departures from the bus station in Apeldoorn. This station is sitauated close to the train station.
