I'm studying in Tromsø in northern Norway now - but Bergen is where I've lived for most of my life, and Bergen is *home*. I'm still in Bergen during holidays & such, for a few months every year.
Bergen is situated on the west coast of Norway - and is known as the "gateway to the fjords". (Bergen is also known as the "city of umbrellas", but that's a whole other story;o)
Bergen is Norway's second largest city, with 235000 inhabitants. (True, it *is* a small town, but Bergen does have the spirit of a much larger city - really!:o) Bergen is, in my *slightly* biased opinion, *by far* the nicest of the bigger cities in Norway - and a visit to the "city among seven mountains" really shouldn't be missed. |
