Favorite Thing: You'll find the huge Bergen Tourist Information Centre just across the street from the fish market, at Vågsalmenningen 1. Even if you don't need any advice or guidance (you're probably well prepared, having read all about the city on VT;o) it will be well worth popping by the tourist information centre just to have a look inside the lovely building which houses the centre.
The tourist information centre is in a large hall known as the Fresco Hall, in the former Bergen Exchange - it was built in 1862 and the huge murals on the walls were painted by Axel Revold ca 1920. (See second photo)
At the tourist information centre you'll of course get advice, free brochures and maps, but you may also buy tickets for various events, for sightseeing and fjord trips, and you can buy the Bergen card here. You can book rental cars, train tickets, accommodation in Bergen and surrounding areas, and there's even a currency exchange office and a souvenir shop available.
