Sports Travel: Vista point Regitzerspitz

  • Theme: Hiking

If you want to see the Rhinevalley from 600 meter above, then hike up to the Regitzerspitz.
Hike up there on a good path and enjoy the view from the top.
Behind the fence the cliff drops several hundert meters down towards the river and the wineyards.

The peak on the picture looks wild, but the path on the back side is not real steep, it is really a hiking tour, not a climb.
Don't worry, the path is safe!!!

Check also the map in the next tip.

The path is well marked with yellow signs

    Equipment: Light hiking boots
    Raingear
    Water and a snack
    Local hiking map

The peak of the Regitzerspitz is more like a plattform, safely protected with a fence on the steep cliffside.
As you can see it can also be done by mountain bike, riding up to the top is a bit challanging, because of some tricky steps on the top, try it!

The Ellhorn can be orbited by jogging/walking.
It's a very scenic run along the river Rhine, climbing 200meter up to Luzisteig and passing forests, in the mid of the mountains.

    Distance: approx. 15km
    Altitude: +/-200m

Offcourse you can also hike this tour

    Map see next tip

Caution: Use the main road only between Fläsch and Fortress, north of the Fort you better use the small road west of the main road going parallel along the forestline!

    Equipment: Jogging shoes
    Water

Starting at the Rhine bridge in Fläsch, going north, a 60km long paradies for Rollerbladers starts, a paved road with no cars allowed!

Use caution, you share the road with Bicycles and Joggers, offcourse the tip applies for them too.

Equipment: Inline Skates, Rollerblades or what ever you wanna call them...and please use protectors and a helmet

Address: Starting from the Rhine bridge in Fläsch
Directions: On the road from Fläsch to Bad Ragaz, dam on western side, the east side is not paved here, but good for hikers and joggers.

The whole Heidiland is an excellent place for cycling, either with your roadbike or mountainbike.

Ride leisurely along the river Rhine, or challange yourself on a steep mountain.

Except main roads every road or path is fine and safe.

Equipment: Bicycle, helmet, raingear, water and snacks
