May The Force Be With You!

by SharrieShaw - last update: Jan 18, 2005

Forces of Nature
Jan. 19, 2005

I was at Bicheno & Freycinet when the day the Tsunami striked.
Naturally, I didn't know about the Tsunami until I was in Devonport on the 27th night.

Bicheno was about 20 mins drive from Wineglass Bay & our guide brought us there to show us the blowhole.
I had seen something similar when in NZ a few years back. But not so close like this.

The first splash of water we saw was a lot bigger than what you see here. But it was when we first arrived & from far. I wasn't quick enough to catch the shot.

Yet, as we were about to leave the place, I thought to myself.
It felt like a "wet" tornado. That force... it's exciting to watch but scary to be caught in it.

Perhaps that also sums up how I will feel about tsunami if I were to witness it in person!
