  • The historical tales of Peitou's development, knowledge on hot springs etc are showcased in the museum. The building's architecture itself is interesting as it is a mixture of East and West influences. It provided an insightful experience about Peitou. Remember to get the museum stamp chop on your travel journal for memento before leaving the museum. ;)

  • We took a public bus up Yangmingshan, the entire journey is around an hour plus. Just sit on the bus and admire the surrounding natural beauty as it moves along. There are actually many interesting places up here, so drop off if you wanna visit them.

Directions: The bus is along Chungshan Road, Hsin Peitou MRT station. It should be Taipei City Bus 230, please confirm again.

  • Wulai is a good place to taste village food (remember to try the chicken), admire its waterfalls and buy local products like peach wine, plums etc from Wulai street. There are many hot spring resorts here and its scenery is one of the best in Taipei. You can try the free open-air hot spring on the bank of Nanshih Creek as shown in the photo. Try taking the mini-train ride too. You need to take a cable car to catch a close-up view of the Wulai Falls and to go to the Yunhsien Amusement Park.

Things To Do: Catch the trend at Hsimenting

  • To know what's hot and trendy in Taipei, check out the stores in Hsimenting. A lot of young people shop here, the latest fashion - clothes, shoes, accessories etc. It is also a place to catch local celebrities, hosting their variety shows or doing some promotions. And yes, people watching.

What an informative, interesting, helpful page. Loved the restaurant tips, just outstanding. Good hotel tips, also. You have a nice writing style, and your photographs that accompany the commentary just add to the great experience of visiting your work.
