They called it: The City of Lights

by Yijie - last update: May 25, 2007

The first city in Europe I've been to. Seen many first-time incidents too..like they can kiss on the streets for say, five minutes?!

Antonio Canova (1757-1822) - Eros and Psyche

Museums and galleries

I admit I'm not really a person who appreciate the arts, thus I rarely visit any museums or galleries in Paris except The Lourve of course. The only place of art I got attracted to is the Place du Tertre. Is that considered modern art?

My take on Paris

Purely visiting versus working and living in a city is totally different. A tourist often only touches the surface of the culture. In Paris, the bureaucratic procedures are really a headache and efficiency seems to be the last on the list. However, the culture perhaps being European is more relaxed and people lead more carefree lives. Hence for me, it is at first frustrating to adjust to life in Paris but when I went back to work in Singapore, it is then I yearn that the pace of life should be something similar. What an irony. ^_^ "

Excellent pictures of Paris under the snow ! It is always interesting to know how visitors see Paris. Paris dog owners can be fined if the don't lead their dog to the gutter but apparently it is not enough!
