I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE CITY (OF LONDON)!!!

by shutterlust - last update: Jan 19, 2007

This is an amazing city and every day something else takes my breath away whether it's a new building that I've just stumbled upon, or a plaque telling about some English history, a hidden pub in an alley, a new friend, or even the location of another Tesco grocery store! The people here are probably the best of this city. They are incredibly friendly and SOO POLITE. I've made soo many new friends here from Old Bailey court judges to Old Bailey court guards, to the guy who stands in the security booth at the Guard's Parade, to an actually KNIGHT (who, in turn, introduced me to his wife who he met during the war, who introduced me to a man who's married to a European-famous concert pianist), to locals in pubs and bars down in "the City".

This city is amazing and I will never get over it. If, for some reason, I couldn't live in Manhattan anymore, London will be my second home. I encourage everyone to come visit and don't just visit the main sites (Big Ben, Westminster, Madame Tussauds, Oxford St, etc) Those are all fine and dandy, but do some REAL exploring into this amazing city and each turn will take your breath away. I promise. :-D

Pros:"the PEOPLE, the sandwiches, the grass (SO incredibly green and beautiful), the buildings, architectural monuments, the City, and the accents."
Cons:"No bagels, decent Chinese/Italian food, no PEANUT BUTTER, and crazy red double-decker buses"
In A Nutshell:"I wouldn't live anywhere else (except NY)"
