The observatories on Mauna...
The observatories on Mauna Kea. There are currently more major observatories on Mauna Kea than on any other site on earth. Included are the two Kecks (10 meters), the Subaru (8.3 meters), the Gemini (8.2 meters) This is a Hubble telescope photo image of the Eta Carina nebula, visible in the southern hemisphere.

 My husband made the trek to Mauna Kea's summit for the telescopes. When we were in Bora Bora one of my highlights was seeing the "Southern Cross".

 Most people go to Hawaii for the Bikini girls and the poo poo platers.... It looks like an awesome place to see stars as well.
