Steve was one of the first people I met on VT ages ago. We have been talking almost every day since then but it took us quite a long time to finally meet (Him and Susan finally came over to visit me for a few days in 2002). I had an open invitation to visit them so I did. And stayed at their house for 10 (!) days... |

|  | Susan (Susantilly) ....and I had the most wonderful time you could imagine. They were showing me (or should I say "chasing me"? ;-) the whole north of England, redecorated the spare room to turn it into "Sabsi's room", cooked for me and entertained me perfectly the whole time. I hated to leave... but I'm sure we'll meet again! Hopefully on a tour of the whole of Germany ;) |

| | Sandy (sandysmith) We met Sandy and Dave in Liverpool around lunchtime (by the time picture taking addict had already taken 100 pictures.... of a place she lives nearby ;-)! They showed us around Liverpool and Chester, invited us for dinner and opened "Hotel Sandy" for us (with chocolate on the pillow even!). |

We met again in Newcastle and on the last night in the north of England she invited us over for a fantastic three course dinner and - of course - drinks ;-) |

So when I planned my itinerary for the way back I had to build a day trip to Oxford in. We met at the station, had an Irish lunch and he showed me beautiful Oxford and its oldest pub where I could have stayed for ages!!! |
| | Gwilym (MOB1US) On my last day in England I took another opportunity to meet a local VTer, this time it was in London. I was walking along the south bank all day (something I always wanted to do!) and because I had read Gwilym's fantastic south bank travelogue I knew that he'd be the perfect tour guide. We met half way and he showed me places I would have never found on my own. And we spent quite some time in the pubs as well. |
