| Starfish in the Seattle Aquarium |
| | The shore The Museum has been constructed to recreate the sentation one would have if he walked from the mainland towards the sea. In the first hall of the museum, typical animals that live in the water on the shores is shown.
Especially children enjoy this part of the museum. In a few places, starfish have been put in such a way that children can touch them. |
| Bird in the Seattle Aquarium |
| | Not only fish The Museum has given a lot of attention to show other animals as well, such as birds that reside in the neighbourhoud of the water of the sea. |
| Seattle Aquarium: the waterlevel |
| | Going deeper At a certain moment, when entering the core of the second building, the environment changes. This is the moment where our eyes are at sea-level. Take a deep breath: we're going under ... |
| salmons in the Seattle Aquarium |
| | The salmon As we arrive under the sea-level, it becomes clear that the Seattle Aquarium has a great link with the salmon. Around the different areas of the Museum, tanks are placed where salmons are living in their dfferent stages in life. The young salmons are in a tank under wich the visitor can walk. That's where I took this picture. |
| Seattle Aquarium: colorfull fish |
| | Colorfull fishes In the core of the second building of the museum, you'll arrive in a very special room. Everywhere you look, you see water. All walls are replaced by thick glass windows that enable a view in the aquarium. Even above you is water and animals that reside therein. Some of them have very beatifull colors. |
| | Getting out of the water again When leaving the rooms in which you live between the fish, some larger animals that live in and above the water are shown. The otters are very spectacular, but way to fast for my camera when not using a flash :-) |
| Feeding the animals in the Seattle Aquarium |
| | Education The museum not only displays the animals, but has a special attention to the conservation of nature and water. At the end of the museum, a small interactive part is created where kids can learn about the water, the quality of water, the need for clean water in the world and how the western world is waisting tons of water every second. |
