Bags packed, passport at the ready...LET's GO!! | FK & LFK, both adventurers in their own right |
Let me introduce you to my good friend Little Flyingkiwi!
Little flyingkiwi (or LFK as he is known to his mates) is about to undertake the voyage of his lifetime!
Yes in just a few days time our feathered friend will be setting off for the South Coast of Australia to visit my good pal from VT Micky (aussie75)!
From there this little kiwi will travel anticlockwise around the planet on a journey which will take him (all being well!) to over 14 different Countries!
His planned route is as follows :-
Auckland-Melbourne-USA West Coast-Alaska-Chicago-New York-Madrid-London-England West Country-Melsungen (Germany)-Warsaw-Vilnius-Kouvola (Finland)-Bratislava-Prague-Ljubljana-Malta-Rijeka-Sofia-Izmir-Israel-Taiwan-Singapore-Bangkok-Auckland |
THE RULES Each member (listed below) has already received an email asking them for assistance so that this little kiwi can come and 'visit' them as part of his VT WORLD TOUR.
LFK in return will offer them his companionship and insight into World matters.
However, LFK is a troublesome character and requests the following...
1. That upon receiving LFK (most probably in the form of a large parcel - his preferred method of transport!) they do the following....
photograph themselves with LFK and/or LFK in front of a famous building/monument to their city.
write a little message in LFK's 'passport' and attach a postcard from their hometown
carefully place LFK (and his 'passport') in his 'flying parcel' and deliver him safely to the next recipient* (within a week of receiving him if possible).
The next recipient must be careful to ensure the attached messages/postcards are not lost. Recipients may write messages/postcards to eachother if desired too.
Lets see if we can get LFK all around the World!!
note: all those chosen to receive LFK are friends of Mark (flyingkiwi) on VT. |
Q & A THE FOLLOWING IS TO AID OUR VT 'HOSTS' AND ACTS AS A GUIDELINE TO WHAT TO DO IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS -
Q/ What if the VTer I am supposed to forward LFK to does not provide me with an delivery address/answer my email?
A/ Do the following -
1) Obtain address of VTer on your friends list (one who lives reasonably close to the proposed 'next' destination)
2) Explain to VTer rules of the game and advise him/her to consult the below list on this page to see who shall receive LFK next.
for example - If Marcin75 (Warsaw) received LFK and could not get hold of Giedrute (Vilnius) in order to send LFK her way he would check his friends list for an alternative recipient then tell him/her to consult this page. This recipient will then follow the instructions for 'looking after LFK' before sending him to empbu (Kouvola) who is next on the official list.
Q/ How long can I keep LFK for?
A/ It is very easy to get attached to our little feathered friend however I recommend you keep LFK no longer than 1 WEEK. This is order to ensure his VT World Tour runs as smoothly as possible (& to stop him from 'overstaying' his welcome, emptying the fridge of your favourite things & sh*tting all over your carpet!).
Q/ What if LFK comes to harm?
A/ By agreeing to 'host' LFK you must refrain from putting our feathered friend in a situation where he would "come to harm". This may include any of the following circumstances -
1) Leaving him with the pet Rottweiler!
2) Leaving him in a room with kids under the age of 5!
3) Leaving him in a room with parents under the influence of drink!!
Q/ Do I have to send postcards/messages when I forward LFK to the next destination?
A/ It is good to send at least something from your hometown. This may be in the form of a present for the next recipient, a postcard or even a photograph.
Flyingkiwi asks that you DO sign the guest book which LFK always carries on his travels.
Q/ What else should I do?
A/ The most important thing to remember (apart from sending LFK on his merry way after his visit) is to take a photograph - of yourself & LFK and send it via email to
flyingkiwi@VTMail.com
This way Mark can regularly update his page and other VTers 'hosting' LFK will be kept informed of his whereabouts. Photos also act as proof that LFK did actually visit your country and didn't just decide to swan (or kiwi!) off to the nearest beach in search of some sun, sea & surf!
IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK! |
