In the name of global friendship, last month over 150 VirtualTourist.com members converged on the streets of Krakow, Poland for VT's 6th Annual Euromeet and the town is probably still recovering. Traveling from Malaysia, the Dominican Republic, Western Europe and all points in between, they ate perogies, sampled borscht cocktails, and even managed to visit a few historic sites in the process (like Poland's 2nd-ever McDonald's which symbolized for locals the country's official emergence from communism). The laughter flowed as fast as the vodka with veteran VT'ers and newbies alike having a fantastic time. About 30 tireless participants even capped the experience off with a trip to nearby Lviv, Ukraine, a city expected to emerge as a major tourist attraction in 2012 when it serves as co-host of the Euro Football Championship. Upcoming meets include an East London treasure hunt and Macedonian Euromeet, so if you're interested in attending one of these truly unique and eye-opening meetings, visit VirtualTourist.com's meeting page for more details.
