GibJoe has an extensive list of
kite surfing shops on his Tarifa Sports tips page but as is most often the case, you’re more likely to just bump into them as you’re walking around. The same goes for windsurfing and scuba diving shops. The essence behind windsurfing is a combination of sailing and surfing, whereas kite surfing is a mixture of power kite flying and surfing. The sport has completely exploded in Tarifa over the past five years and in good wind conditions over the summer, it isn't unusual to count over 250 kites in the sea and on the beach. An amazing sight! Lesson prices are usually around 100 euros for a day or 250 euros for a three-day package so remember to put aside that money when you’re ordering your fifth glass of sangria!
