Travel Can Be For The Birdsby
travelfrosch I’m not a bird watcher. I don’t even play one on TV… er, VT. But even amateurs can enjoy lots of diverse bird life in their travels. This is especially true if you head away from population centers. For example, you can go hiking in
Dutch Harbor, Alaska and enjoy an avian feast for the eyes. If you happen to be in Iceland, head north to the remote island of
Hrísey for some tremendous hikes and a tremendous variety of birds you may (or may not) be able to identify.
Are you just staying in Reykjavík? Never fear -- a short boat ride will get you to the island of
Viðey where the birds will most definitely make themselves evident.
Are you looking for a specific bird? There are places for that, too. Should you go to
Mykines in the Faroe Islands, you won’t have to do much huffin’ to find some puffin.
