Hotel Room-inationsby
travelfroschOK, now you’ve figured out where you want to go. So where should you stay? Should you stay at a hostel? A B&B? A luxury hotel? Should you book with a website, or contact the hotel directly? So many questions… so many choices… what to do? Well, you came to the right place.
As for the type of accommodations you want, that decision should be reached through a combination of your budget and your preferences. If you want to be pampered by all means book a luxury hotel. But if your budget doesn’t quite reach to your pampering desires, you can save some money by booking in advance and pre-paying, such as I did at the Hotel Saga in Reykjavík.
Hostels can be an excellent value for budget travelers of all ages. If you choose to stay at hostels, you will save even more money by joining the IYHF. It’s also a good idea to bring your own sheets with you, as sheet rentals can be quite pricey at times. The cheapest beds are in shared dormitories… great for sociability, but not so nice if you want privacy and/or sleep. Not to worry: most hostels have private rooms as well – just be sure to book these rooms in advance if you want them. The hostels in Scandinavia are the cleanest and are usually very good values. You can also find hostels in exotic places, such as Abisko National Park in far northern Sweden.
