You need to get here a bit early - when they say fresh fish - they mean fresh fish. They are also busy. Because the fish is so good! It really pays to speak French here to explain how you want your fish prepared. I didn't, but I had a wonderful meal. This a very family oriented restaurant as well. They do not serve alcohol, but have plenty of soft drink options. In case you speak no French at all, you can just point in the case and leave the rest to them. My salad starter was fresh and delicious. My Dorade fish was amazing. A simple but great restaurant. If you are only here for one night in Oran, eat here and sample local seafood and life.
They even deliver ! And you can make reservations on their website.
Their website has a good map, a sample of the menu and a few photos (see page 2!)
Favorite Dish:

There are many local foods, best to eat in an established restruant. We found some food vendors on the avenues to have good food. The bakeries are top notch, as good as Paris.
Favorite Dish: The local pizza resturants are very good. Not what you would typically find in the US.

Located in Central Oran, they serve great seafood and meat dishes. The style is simple, modern cuisine, with fresh ingredients.
Importantly for Algeria, it is air conditioned, too. (Salle climatisee)
Favorite Dish: I loved the starter seafood option and the King Prawn main dish. The wine was good, too, Algerian.

all sorts of "fast food" pizza joints, shawarma, kebab, turkish sandwhich etc.etc.
otherwise, again I repeat myself, to have a nice upscale experience, HEAD TO THE SHERATON and you will be in for a variety of delicious restaurants. Of course prices are similar to those in Western Countries in this location.
Overall, it is a MUST to try seafood because it is the speciality of the city!
Another main thing in Oran is these ice-cream places, which serve irresistibly and well served delicious yummies and where the atmosphere is one that is not to be missed out! The downtown is packed with these places
