Market: Market
One year, on the Ghardaïa market, There were heaps of strange "potatoes". They were actually not potatoes but Terfez (Terfezia leonis), a truffle family hypogeous fungi growing in Northern Africa. They were large : look at the size of my hand on the first photo and look at the size of my espadrille on the second.I wanted to taste these desert truffles, that were highly praised by the Romans. The taste was not bad but was more of the potato type than of the Black truffle type. I mean that it has nothing to do, taste speaking, neither with black truffle nor with white truffle.
