Favorite thing: During the war for independence, there have been many casualties. Thus, it is no wonder if the country is dotted with monuments that recall the memories of those who died for the freedom of their country.

Favorite thing: We avoided Guelma, a city of 100,000 inhabitants and stayed on the outer boulevard. The first photo shows the main roundabout. In the roundabout, stand geometrical structures (close-up on the second photo).
The last photo shows better a monument that celebrates the independence of Algeria.

Favorite thing: In a smaller village, possibly Nechmeya, the figure is about the same though there are no buildings but only new houses and a brand new mosque. On the right of the photo, a new hous is not completely finished building.

Favorite thing: This village, which should be Guelaa-Bou-Sba shows a typical Algerian village with a few modern buildings standing around the mosque. In the background, older houses remain but there has been during the past years a tremendous effort to build new housing all over the country.

Favorite thing: Col-de-Fedjous (Fedjous path) is not really a path but the end of a steep climb from Annaba, sea level to 540 meters in around 40 kilometers. However, it is a strategic location and ancient tower stand not far from the road. I have not found when it was built but though it was used by the French army during the war for independence, it is much older.
