Angola is really off the beaten track! When I was there the war was still raging, and you couldn't go there as a tourist. I went there to work for a couple of weeks, so that's how I got into the country. It should be less difficult to go there now, since there's supposed to be peace now. But I believe it would still be very risky to go outside Luanda, both because of mines that are still spread all over the country - and because of armed groups still ruling the countryside.
