Jango by scarm Jango is Kimbundo for a central shaded hut in the village where the elders gather to tell stories and socialize. This is the theme here, as the large hatlike structure is built to resemble a real African traditional social structure. Great place to hang out in the afternoons and into the evening. Great setting, clean spot on the beach for families, and a favorite among the locals as well as the foreigners. If you sit there long enough, you will probably see someone important in Angolan society. There is always a breeze, so you do not have to worry much about those mosquitos. Always packed when there is a Portuguese league soccer game on the BIG screen.
The food is OK, and when it comes to rating the food and the service, I would say that the view is great . . . If you know what I mean. The pay by the gram concept is good, but the area where you get the food is so cramped, that you have to fight for a morsel, but the Angolans are not shy about nudging each other out of the way. The passive ones will never get to eat. Better to order off the menu. Any problems? Just say you want to talk to Pedro or Ana!!
