The Africa Cup of Nations: The Big African Party of FOOTBALL
The COCAN is going to take place in Angola in 2010. From 10th January until 31st January .
Four brand new stadiums have been built in the cities of Cabinda, Benguela, Luanda and Lubango, as the whole continent of Africa has been waiting for this major event.
The draw made the following Group arrangements:

For the very first ever a World Roller Hockey Cup for Clubs (not for National Teams) is going to be organized. It is going to take place in the city of Luanda, Angola's capital, from September 23, 2006, until September 30, 2006.
An event of this kind has never been organized before, anywhere !!!
Angola's government has being very bold on supporting such event. Congratulations.
For a country that finished a 40-year civil war not long ago, there's now the need to motivate its citizens on Sports practises & such.
This international tournament is then expected to boost Roller Hockey practises in a country that actually has tradition on it since the times of Portuguese rule. [Portugal kept their presence in this country for almost 5 centuries. Angola become official independent in the year of 1975].
Twelve teams from eight different countries are going play in Luanda for this World Clubs Cup. And those Teams are considered to be the best of each represented country.

Totinha, pictured for this Tip, is the official MASCOT for the tournament.
This mascot was named after Tota, a charismatic Angolan hockey player that besides being a regular at his national team, Angola, he also played in various Portuguese hockey clubs such as Paço de Arcos, Turquel, and Sintra.
Tota was a young and skilled player that unfortunately had his life interrupted in consequence of leukemia.
The Organizers of this very first Roller Hockey Clubs World Cup that's going to be held in Angola, Tota's home country, decided to honor Tota's memory.

Angola was chosen to held the first World Roller Hockey Clubs Cup, which is going to to take place in Luanda from September 23 until September 30, 2006.
The Roller Hockey International Committee (CIRH) has been paying a close attention to the Roller Hockey evolution in Angola. Not only Angola has been showing a remarkable organization capacity, but it also ranks on the seventh position at the present world raking.
In consequence of Angola's competitive regularity, summed to the fact of the politic and economic stability that is being seen in the country, the CIRH has sent a commission to Angola to verify about the local conditions in terms of sport facilities, hotel capacities and transportation for the organization of the first World Clubs Cup
For this World Cup to be held in Luanda, Angola, the local Roller Hockey Federation will keep the copyrights for whole static advertising in the pavilion at Cidadela Desportiva, where the Cup is going to take place. The Angolan Federation will also keep all reimbursements from the sales of the tickets.
The involvement of private and government owned companies will be crucial for the success of this particular event. This historic competition for Roller Hockey Clubs is unique of its kind and it should also represent an important incentive to promote the roller hockey evolution that, actually, is in need of new worldwide incentives.
Angola will be in the History as the country that organized the very first World Roller Hockey Clubs Cup. A championship where world renowned teams such as Barcelona, FC Porto, Benfica, Réus, Bassano, Amatori Lodi, and also the respective champions of Argentina, Brazil, Mozambique and Switzerland are taking part at.
Finally, despite gaining a brand new sport facility, Angola is definitely going to have its country's name, prestige and culture being promoted in various different places abroad.
