This place is called "Bar Cafe Cappuccino" and it is one of the best places in town to begin the weekend. A rally cosy drinking spot located in a sidestreet of rue des cheminots. And I easily found it because of the desciption given here. It is really closed to the concrete water tower called "Chateau d'eau Maro Militaire". Go there and enjoy the start of the weekend :-)

I lived in Cotonou for about 2 years now. I enjoyed it very much. I went to this place because I heard from a friend it is cool. But I will never again this place!!!
We could buy no drinks. Then after a while they had again, but no change... It was friday and there was only one man shouting instead of singing in front. This was for me and my friend a total no go place: Touched by foreigners, unclean bottles, filthy tabels and this amateur musican in front. We left the place immediate. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Later on we went to Coco Cocktail which was danceable and a really good alternative to save the night.

Pleasant place with quite good music. Drings for fair prices and lots of fun. And most important you are not harassed in the club.
You don't feel like in other African night clubs where you cannot be alone five minutes without being asked as a girl from some local men as in some other places like le yes papa . So, come and enjoy the music and drinks.

The Coco Cocktail is one of the best places in town. Disco, live music, drinks and interesting people. When you are in Cotonou and want to go out - don't miss it. It is in Haie Vie, only some meteres from the Livingstone, wehre you can have good food before :-)

I came to Cotonou as peacecorps volunteer. I found this place here on virtualtourist.com. Me and some friends decided to visit this place for listening live music. Never again! The music they presented was awful. everything was dirty, the seats were uncomfortable and we were the only white women there. So we were disturbed all the time by someone and felt really uncomfortable at this small dirty backyard.
After that we went to Haie Vie to the Coco Cocktail - this is definitely the place to go on fridays and saturdays to dance and meet nice people. It is only some meters from Livingston where you can eat good stuff...

One of the best places in town for listening to live music every friday and saturday from 11 p.m. up to the end. There are jam sessions as well as concert of professional musicians. the entrance fee and the prices for drinks are moderate.
this place is for locals and guests from above the world - a typical MUST SEEN! Don't miss it!

The discoteque and nightclub in the ground floor of Dynamic Hotel is a high class place. The guests are mainly middle class africans. Free entrance, but the drinks are pricy.
Situated in the Minnontin area, 15 min from the airport and 100 meter from Super marche Benin.

It's dark, very dark--luckily the host showed us to our seats near the dance floor. Good size dance floor was always full with mostly 20-30 somethings, but in every club there always seems to be a gang who's older too. Music was current African and American rap. The standard service of a bottle and glasses at the small table where we sat was comparatively very nice. And...it's not that dark once your eyes get adjusted.

Cotonou knows some nightclubs, but I never visited them because I realy hated the music over there (try lonely planet). There are also some cinema's, and once in a while the cultural centra of America and France show movies. But always doubed in French.
If you're a lucky you can visit a private party. Interesting to see, but with a lot of bad music and more alcohol then the moderate human being can have.
I almost forget to mention the concerts or shows. I visited a show, sponsored by Fine cigarettes with some artists who played theire tapes and when they weren't busy with the girls in the public, they also song.
It was amusing to see, but didn't had a quality.
