Stumbled upon this great place after visiting Le Livingstone. Just down the street from there. It was a Wednesday night. They had tapas but since we had already eaten, we didn't indulge. Staff was fun, informative and accommodating. Manager was also the DJ. Thursdays are usually live music and after thinking we had "discovered" it on our own, come to find out so did every other tourist. Fun place, decent prices and safe area to go out.

This is one of the good discos that I visited in the country. The dico is full during the weekends and you can swing your self to the african, indian, arabic and english music.
There is a casino adjacent to the disc, which is very much full during the weekends and finding a table is really a difficult task.

In Benin you can find all types of nightlife. There are bars, discos, nightclubs, restaurants etc. There are also several places that offer live music. During my stay in Benin we spent most evenings visiting friends of Luc. I think it was a great way of "nightlife" chatting with the local people over a beer and nice food in their private homes... Pleasant place with quite good music. As a visitor from Ghana, I can tell that the music is not the best, but at least you are not harassed in the club.
You don't feel like in other African night clubs where you cannot be alone five minutes without a girl is demanding you a drink.

They have a great beach party, complete with bonfire, to celebrate each Full Moon. Music/dancing until dawn, just above the 'high tide' line of the Atlantic Ocean.
Dress Code: Barefeet, bathing suit, t-shirt are fine.

theater and movies are very cheap - not good quality
some bar with music .

Try to see a movie in THEATER of Cotonou
it is a unique experience.
NB: the qualities is not like modern theater and some mosquitos may be watching th movie with you...

I do not recomend going out at night in Benin. First, you run a much higher risk at getting malaria (Benin has some of the worst in the world). Also, you stand a much greater chance at getting mugged or possibly killed. Especially avoid the old bridge (l'ancient pond) at night. After dark, it becomes the 2nd most dangerous place in Benin.

Few locals go to clubs often due to the price and economy. Typical American music and lots of foreigners and prostitiues. Go with a group and have alot of fun!
