No real tourist traps
When you ponder over the Botswana government’s, “High income, low impact tourism” policy, many of the more high end Safari Lodges have adopted a Disney style approach to the whole African experience. How the development of the "Booze Cruise" through the Okavango Delta can be "low impact" beats us. It seems unfair to describe Ghanzi Craft as a “tourist trap” but it probably is the only place that people passing through would stop at. Local San women will come down to the shop to work on their Ostrich shell necklaces, in the their courtyard, which then go on sale in the shop, at a much better price than you’d pay in Gaborone, Maun or Kasane. You’d do much better to visit Thakadu or Kalahari Sunset Safaris and get closer to the truth of the land.
