Favorite thing:
I found this fantastic sign in Kang at the Kang Ultra Stop. How many times has someone driven past you in a car with music suicidally loud? The worst part being that it always seems to be really bad music played by complete idiots who just look stupid. Why do they feel the need to PROVE how stupid they are? Well, not here mister! Turn it down and roll up the car windows!

Favorite thing: In the middle of nowhere stood Kang. This is where we refueled, just a few kilometers east off the trans-kalaharian that crosses the country. Looking back, we didn't even feel any safety issue, and were just so amused at being in such a remote place.

Favorite thing: They all look pretty much like this, as it gets drier moving west, towards Namibia. Any stop along the road will offer such beautiful and remote sights, and may even reveal animal life or signs of it.

Favorite thing: Along the road in Botswana, this monitor lizard was hissing and puffing when we approached it. We saw weaver bird nests, genets, springhares, ostrich, etc… If one looks out, there is so much wildlife to see.

Favorite thing: We made a stop at a waterhole not far from the road, as we could see there were many birds flying around it. We were amazed by the number of species we were able to spot. There were even animal tracks in the moss. This broke the long journey and made for a preliminary safari!

Favorite thing: Happily waving at us on a road in Botswana, these school children are one of many amusing sights as one drives along the road. The down side of driving is the number of birds killed at such speed, but there isn't much to be done unfortunately. The trans-kalaharian road is very convenient, and we were amazed at the number of animals we saw from it.
