I went to a small village in the Delta, and had the priviledge to meet up with some of the children.

The people in Botswana are very helpful. It seems that the whole country is tourist orintated and so therefor has an aura about it that will make anyone enjoy there travels there.
The Army are very strict about photograph taking, try to stay on the right side of them, and never try to photograph them, or where they are situated.
Locals are genrally quiet folk, not aggressive and appreciate basic polite behaviour.As ever basic greetings in local language, Setswana, goes a long way.Lifts for folk in remote areas appreciated.
When shaking hands with locals, white or black , place left hand palm down with finger tips touching right elbow
Learning some basic greetings in Setswana will go a long way. Dumela rra when greeting a man and Dumela mma for a woman are the most important.
DUMELA IS THE FORMAL GREETING ANYDAY OF THE DAY. IN THE NORTHERN PART OF BOTSWANA ELDERS HAVE TO BE GREETED FIRST BY YOUNG ONES. HANDY SHAKING IS MOST APPRECIATED.
