Key ring made of ostrich eggshell beads

Just because something started life as a key ring doesn't mean it can't evolve into a Christmas tree ornament - why, it even has that handy little round bit to hang it from!

This key ring is made from hand carved beads fashioned out of ostrich egg shell which has a warm, creamy colour and a delightfully rough texture. Don't worry about this posing a threat to conservation, as ostriches are certainly not endangered, and most of the eggshell used to make beads is a byproduct of the ostrich meat industry that has captive breeding programmes.

Buying sovenir

If you'd like to buy sovenir like t-shirt ,you 'd better buy from Maun, especially if you don't go to Kasane, and things in Maun are cheaper than in Kasane. One good thing is you can buy post card and stamp in same shop,no need to buy from post office. For local handcraft ,I suggest you not to buy from the big shop (unless you need a quality one)but better check around small stall that the local try to earn for their living, and price is cheaper. If you miss to buy some from center of town, there's one place before leaving Maun to Moremi name "Chorobe craft studio" a very small but colourful shop(that time it's green)is on your right hand side.
