Don't get so caught up in the big animals that you miss out on the small wild beauties like birds, insects and frogs. I loved to sit very quietly in the afternoons in camp and watch the vivid birds all around. I also saw these amazing little frogs, called Painted Reed Frogs. Males were bright white with red underbellies, and their nightime call was a delicate 'clink, clink' sound. This photo is of a Jacana nest. Also known as a Lilly Trotter because of its long toes, it builds a floating nest among the reeds.

by ngaka

The village of Etsha 6 (referred to as Etsha) is home of the Okavango Basket Shop, where you can buy high quality Botswana baskets and other crafts at lower prices than in Maun or Gaborone. A trip to Etsha may also be an opportunity to see a rural village in Botswana. Etsha is easily accessable by bus from Maun.

Sunsets are great in Botswana.

Just sit down with a beer, or any other drink you like, and watch the sun go down.

We were on a overland safari with Kumuka Expeditions and we were able to travel by traditional dugout canoes to camp two nights in the middle of the Okavango Delta
