Ron's Fresh Produce: Pre-safari one-stop shop

by JohanIsWeg

Before embarking on your safari, stop off at Ron's Fresh Produce in Maun and stock up on all the creature comforts you'll need out in the bush. The store is really a one-stop destination, providing a choice of meat (beef, lamb, pork, venison), poultry (chicken, duck, turkey, guinea fowl, ostrich, quail), seafood (shell fish, fish), dairy (butter and margerine, yoghurt, cream, cheese), pastries, deli products (dried fruit and nuts, herbs and spices, sauces and relishes, preserves and jams, coffee and tea), fruit and vegetables.Bottled water ranges from 2 pula for 500ml to 9.60 pula for 5lt.If you call or fax them with an order, they will be happy to have all your fresh or frozen supplies vacuum packed or boxed and ready for collection. Biltong and dry wors.

Ron's Fresh Produce: Boerewors and Steak

by Acirfa

This is a super little shop to stock up on meat from. Here you will pick up freshly made wors, chops, steak, burgers at a reasonable price. Well worth a trip before heading into the bush. We bought enough food here for 5 days in the reserves. You can also purchase fruit and veg here but we headed to the super market for these items. When returning to the South of the Country from the North, you will be unable to bring meat products back with you it will be confiscated at the veterinary gate. Cooked meats are allowed, although sometimes the officials get hungry and confiscate it anyway! Cash/card

Island Safari.com: Use Island Safari

by Julestoo

This is a great group to book your first African Safari. They accomodate the special requests, found the perfect camps for what I wanted, they kept to the budget provided and gave great support both before and after the trip. They cared about the satisfaction! But whatever you need, airfare, camps, charters, etc. You set the buget and they will help.

Buy Your Souvenirs before you get to Chobe

by janiac

If you are going to Zimbabwe, I would highly recommend buying your souvenirs there instead of Chobe. Prices are much, much, much cheaper there, and they had a greater variety of crafts to pick from (wooden bowls and baskets, carved giraffes, animals made from stone).
