The Tlokweng Gate is one of the border posts between South Africa and Botswana. It is between Gaborone and Zeerust. The South African gate is called Kopfontein Gate on the R49 north of Zeerust. On the Botswana side you continue on the A1 to Gaborone. It’s the best way to get to Gabs from Sun City. Just inside the checkpoint area you will find the WORST money exchange rates in Africa (except Zimbabwe). The Bureau de Change gives criminally bad rates here!
Unique Suggestions: Try to exchange as little as you can get away with. Gaborone has loads of banks and ATM’s.
Fun Alternatives: Read this tip and save it! Exchange at any good exchange place in South Africa before you come over the border or wait until you get to Gabs.
