The Medi offers up pretty good grub for cheap, cheap…nice pasta dishes, good pizzas and excellent salads (love those Cameroon tomatoes) top the menu and it’s hard to beat the covered open-air patio. With all overhead fans blowing air down on you, one might even forget they are sitting just six degrees north of the equator…

I am always a little more than leery about eating sushi in the third world and I thought the sight of Africans wearing kimonos was a bit odd…but Okinawa proved to have pretty good sushi as well as other Japanese specialties. Leave a Comment

The Broadway is somewhat of an institution located in one of the posher areas of Douala.
One section of it is a restaurant which does seafood so great even Tony the tiger would be speechless, in the other section of the restaurant is a bar with a large stage at one end and an upstairs viewing platform looking down onto the people below, local musicians come and sing in a kind of cabaret performance, the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic and you can quite happily while the hours away there, on the plus side its frequented by KLM aircrews too, so the views can be outstanding.......
Excellent Seafood, don't have to go far to go to the jazz club........ Leave a Comment

The Colonial is an open air restaurant with set behind an old "colonial" facade....the place serves up surf and turf with a local flare with excellent views of the Western sky over the Atlantic Ocean and the fishmen in their dugout canoes on the Wouri River...
The seafood is pretty good, the portions of the Captaine are large and meaty...the Sole is a bit thin, but tasty all the same....naturally, these dishes are washed down with some "33".....I just hope the catch doesn't come from the Wouri River..... I very often eat ... different foods here. Boeuf Bourguignon, Blanquette de Veau, Côte de Boeuf grillée, Grilled Fish or Meat, Gambas à l'Espagnole, ... with good wine (not expensive), and never forget Crêpes Flambées or Profiterôles. So many good things.
