A walk through this lovely town, stopping for a coffee at one of the pleasant esplanades or just relaxing in the gardens is an excellentway to spend an afternoôn.It is also fascinating to visit the local markets.Prainha is the name given to the small but beautiful beach with the hotel Praia mar. don't be surprised : at Prainha bar you might hear some Russian pop-music as the barkeeper is Russian..just typical to see how international the population is in the Cabo Verde..
the island of SAL=================in view of its close proximity to the African continent, has a climate very simular to other zones with same latitude. It is very arid islan, and although volcanic in origin, constant erosion throughout its history has made it almost flat. From north to south it is about 30 km long but does not exceed more then 12 km in width. the overall surface area is 216 km2. the international airport of Sal is the main gateway to the whole Archipelago. Sal was discovered in 1640 and was first known as Llana or Plana meaning 'flat'. It was given its present name when a lagoon in a crater of an extinct volcano was discovered in this place, after the rains, salt was produced. this crater is now known as Pedro de Lume
Wer gerne wandert ist auf Santo Antao richtig.Surfer treffen sich auf Sal, aber sonst gibt es da nichts zu tun. Auf Santiago kann man sowohl baden wie auch wandern. Die spektakulären gepflasterten Wege auf S.Antao und die ungepflasterten, aber ebenso steilen auf Santiagosind unvergleichbar.
...be out of travel destinations!There are too many other more enjoyable island groups to visit; the Carribean, Hawaii, Tahati and all the Pacific islands. LEAVING! (I was sentenced there on business, that's why!)
You have to stay couple of days on the first island you step onto from the airplane - Sal. I spent almost 3 months there and it was the best vacation in my life so far. I stayed in Espargos, which is the closest place to the airport and biggest town on the island. There is about 10 000 inhabitants living on Sal, criminality is 0, everyone knows everyone... very cosy place.

The beauty of caboverde is to discover. Sand, earth, stones... nothing special at first sight. But if you look better... those island will show you that they are beautifull. La beauté du cap vert ne saute pas aux yeux, il faut la découvrir..la chercher. Mais quand on la trouve elle vous ensorcelle et ne vous lache plus. Santa Maria in Sal. Peacefull place, still not crowded with tourists, where every community lives in peace and with a smile. The color of the water is unforgettable.A Santa Maria de Sal, touts les communauté vivent en harmonie, tout n'est que quiétude et sourire. Et le turquoise de l'eau un enchentement

A: Mindelo is in my opinion the most attractive town in Cape Verde. Nice town by the sea with colonial buildings and a pretty decent local nightlife.
