Don't miss out on the local beers Ceris (bottled) and Cleps (draught)! The brewery in Praia was set up by a Danish company and if anybody knows beer - it's the Danes!
Drive away from the hotel , feel the island, and tak to locals. More and more locals talking italian in Boavista.
My fondest memory is probably that of climbing Pico de Fogo (2829 metres). It was the first volcano I had ever climbed.
You can find such diferent types of landscapes when you cross the island of Boavista.
The beach of Sal Rei
I didn't spend much time in the Island of Sal, but in a few hours you can have a look to the salinas, and around Santa Maria, the nicest village there.

A: Mindelo is in my opinion the most attractive town in Cape Verde. Nice town by the sea with colonial buildings and a pretty decent local nightlife.
