On the way to Passagem, a leisure-area with a swimming pool, frequentally visited by Capeverdians in the weekend, we drove through the nice valley of Paul.
In the valley we saw a farmhouse with black & white cows.
Passagem is south of Paul ( Vila de Pombas) at the north-east coast.

The road from Ribeira Grande along the coast to the east ends at the village of Janela.
From Janela it's possible to take a path along the coast for a walk to the lighthouse, Faro Fontes Prreira de Melo, and back.
Janela is a quiet fishing village with narrow streets, sleeping dogs on the road and women pounding maize.

There are small waterfalls and enough water for crops in this valley, Ribeira de Torre.
Some parts of the road are unpaved and wet.
There are a lot of banana-trees along the road.

under a big tree is the meeting point of the village. The two times we passed this place we always saw people sitting and chatting under the tree.
