Beware of cruising so called rhasta men in the clubs and bars of santa maria sal. most of them are married and sleep with at least three or four tourists women a week. don't do it or go there - that is my main tip. the pirate club itself is good nice mix of locals and tourists but just take care you have been warned.

At the Morabeza bar there were African dances perfomances and music at night, some of them also performed by people from Senegal. It's fun to watch it and to get the real african feel. The dancers also usually display their crafts and you can buy real nice things.

In the picture you can really enjoy the crowded nightlife spots in Boavista !!!
Be quite careful !!! you have to book well in advance to get your entry pass ...
Dress Code: OK, a little bit serious: if it's windy it's not so bad to have some warm stuff for the evening ... and in Cape Verde it's often windy.

Night life in the Island is becoming one of them.
This people love their music and love to dance. You get a lot of African music in the Discos.
There's the ' Banana ' disco which at that time the roof was made of cane (who cares if it rains?? it never rains in the island, anyway!!!).
'Lamb eche' is a more modern disco.

There is not that many public places to go and have fun on Sal (with the exception of two or three night clubs/discos in Espargos and Santa Maria), however you will be more than satisfied if you travel to Santiago. I haven't visited other islands, so my experience is limited to Sal and Santiago, but I must say that once you get to know some local people you won't get your butt out of parties and other happennings. Capverdians are very happy people, they like sports, they like life and love, they like seeing and meeting their mates, they like parties and fun.
