Luggage and bags: Pack light when you go to Cape Verde . You don't need to dress up there.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Beach cloth and flip flops and sandals are the best as the weather is really hot there. If you're a woman, some sarongs to wear during the day is fine. Nights may get a bit less warm so a light jacket or pulover will do.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Mosquitos always appear, specially at the end of the day and at night. Be sure you take your mosquito repellent. I don't think they sell it in Santa Maria. Be also sure you take your usual medicines as you won't find them there.

A NYLON CLOTHES LINE

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Washing and drying clothes is very easy here in Cape Verde. The islands are desert islands. Yep, dry. Get about a 2-3 meter nylon cord and you can tie it around anything to dry clothes fairly quickly. Take care to make sure your clothes aren’t left unattended where they can get stolen! The nylon cord is lightweight, packs away easily and will last forever.

Miscellaneous: Be aware that it's difficult to get a cash advance from your credit card.
It's also quite expensive since you will have to pay for a phonecall to Senegal where the nearest visa office is(if you use visa).
I got cash advances on Sal and Sao Vicente, but no chancE in sao Nicolao and Santo Antao when i was there in december 1999.

Photo Equipment: My conclusion:

make sure, you have enough films when coming to remote places like this....

....or you will never be able to show pics of this beautiful islands to your VT-friends !!! :-((

In fact you never know what kind of films you may get in a small group of islands like Cape Verde, and you will never know for sure, if they were stored in right temperature or not.

Miscellaneous: In general you should be aware that you should take with you all the equipment that you need, but that is unusally not needed by the local people...

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Take mosquitoes repellent and some kind of medicine for upset stomach and diarrhoea.

Photo Equipment: Take everything you need for photographing and filming. Shops are very poor in the island.
If you're planning on doing some scuba diving and want to take some pictures, take the water proof photo camera with you. You may not find it easily and it can be very expensive.

Miscellaneous: Better take everything you'll need. Films, batteries, medicine, etc. As I said before, you may not find what you want and if you do, it may be very expensive. Remember, this is an island.

Luggage and bags: Do not exceed the maximum weight on internal flights (32 kg); the available space is a small one.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Warm stuff for the evening, when the sun is going down the neverending wind is strong ...

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Consider they're quite poor on this subject; do not miss basic medicines such as stuff against fever, stomach disasters & intestine as well.
If you are a diabetic bring everything with you, they simply die for this disease !!!! They cannot have anything ...

Photo Equipment: You can find batteries & films in resorts or souvenirs shop
