In Santa Maria do Sal, the main village, there are a few restaurants, though you don't have many options to choose from. Restaurants are all very modest but they serve fresh fish and seafood. Don't miss the lobster here, as it's very inexpensive and really good. It's one of the main dishes for tourists. This is a very modest restaurant , but it serves the best "cachupa" in Sal Island. The "cachupa" is a typical Cape Verde dish , a stew made with meats, vegetables, corn and different kinds of beans. It's delicious and this restaurant is the place to taste it.

This restaurant, besides its wonderful location on the beach serves great grilled fish and seafood. Fish is always fresh here and you can see it being prepared. They also have a tuna carpaccio which is delicious. Service can be a bit slow, but then, you're in Africa....!

also in Sal rei there's a restaurant with this really nice terrace and fab food, and a really nice portuguese lady running it. :)

Restaurant SODADE (Mindelo)
This restaurant situated in the heart of Mindelo (Sao Vicente Island) offer several kinds of delicious fish and the very known cachupa.
Here you have a fantastic view over Mindelo and its bay. You may even hear 'morna'(Cape Verde Music) coming from some dancing clubs nearby.
It is also a Boarding House with nice and clean rooms.
