Situated right in front of the beach in Santa Maria, next to the hotel Leme Bedje, this snack bar serves not only snacks but daily specials including local Cape Verdean cuisine or international.
Relaxing atmosphere with great service and a cheery smile, it was nice to chill with a cold beer and take in the spectacular view.
Favorite Dish: Mexican chicken wrap, spicy yet delicious! The tortilla wraps are made on the premises daily with a choice of fillings, even vegetarian. Lots of choice, either toasties or snacks. Ideal for a light lunch as only open daily till 5pm, so great to pop in for a quick bite before heading to the beach.

If you eat outside of the hotels like I did it is very expensive even though I ate in the local rough & ready cafes and the nicer looking restaurants they were all over priced. If I eat local I expect local prices as in other countries I have visited but not here. Even though the fish is good and abundant it is still expensive. The tourist is being ripped off and a lot of people I spoke would not go back.
Also if I want an Irish bar I will visit Ireland.
Favorite Dish: Chey Patis in an alley between two buildings in town was lovelyfood superb , good hosts, but expensive.
Leonardo's in town was scary inside and overpriced the waitresses stand and stare at you when you are eating then whip the dishes from under you as soon as you put the cutlery down. We didn't get what the description was on the menu thing left off meal - got drinks free, but don't think they will change menu.
Funarna on the beach has great buffet nights and the floor show with his son on saxaphone and the young people playing various instruments is great, all the waiters/waitresses dance a lovely atmosphere Fri,Sat & Mondays.
Atlantis on the beach has nice food and excellent service but gets full early
Creole Cafe in town is rough & ready but was the cheapest to eat you may get a smile out of the manager if you are lucky
Cultural Cafe in town has a nice atmosphere but service not good when busy so your food is served almost cold. Also there is a dog on top of the roof of an adjacent shop who barks all night so could drive some people mad. Take your jumper as can be drafty.
