Familiarize yourself with the fascinating history of Cape Verde and with its government, one of the freest and most stable democracies in Africa. This is the Cape Verdean 'white house', the Palace of the Government', where the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister and his Government carry out the work of running the country.

Sal: Known as one of the world's best places for windsurfing Sal offers a lot for watersport's fans. The attractions are very limited: beach, waves, fishing areas, the 'Blue Eye' and the Salt Crater of Pedra Lume (picture)

by MProcher

Fogo: The Volcano - named Pico de Fogo - is not only dominating the whole island, no, it is the whole island. The land surrounds the Pico, each stone and earth you can see is from eruptions of the Pico. The Pico is still very active. The last bigger eruption was in 1995. In the travelogue I shall add some pictures of absolutely new eruptive material. At the picture you can see some 'clouds' around the Pico - no clouds, smoke!

by MProcher

Sao Vicente:The capital of Sao Vicente is Mindelo. The city lies at the edge of an old volcano crater which formed a perfect place for a pretected harbour: Porto Grande. For centuries this was a secret place to pirates til the Portugese built a castle. Mindelo is a small but very vivacious and sympathic town. It hosts nice shops, nice hotels, restaurants and bars and the people are very friendly - it's more lovely than Praia because it is smaller, without any hectic, but that doesn't mean it would be boring. I was there at Silvester and it was GREAT!

A: Mindelo is in my opinion the most attractive town in Cape Verde. Nice town by the sea with colonial buildings and a pretty decent local nightlife.
