A chop-bar is called “un Maquis” and you can find them everywhere in the city. They serve many different local dishes but there is one that I’ll never forget Don’t be afraid to try them, you won’t get sick, but I warn you, its very hot and spicy.
Grilled plantains, with fish or eggs and pepper. Mmmmh You ask for > Alokoo
We came here to spend a couple of hours at the ocean and have lunch. Actually, the place is also a hotel, and you can stay here for a night, or spend a week's vacation. The place is nice, clean and well-kept, decorated with locally crafted wooden statues.
There is a swimming pool. The place is right at the beach, and you can go into the ocean, but it's impossible to swim here because of the ocean waves.
Don't leave any of your possessions in the beach! The beach is public and anything can happen to your things :).
Local vendors roam the beach and try to make you buy their goods, they can be quite annoying, but they will not enter the gate to the restaurant/hotel.
Frog legs! This is the first place, where I tried them, and they were deliciouis! With garlic and herbs, yummy!
