Bunagana Things to Do
For collectors of countries:
The visa for the Democratic Republic of Congo is quite difficult to get but the following is at the moment possible.
From Kisoro, Uganda you can take a motorcycle taxi (both ways and some waiting time 15000 Uganda Shilling, on market days there will be also minibuses) to Bunagana a village both sides of the border, there you go first to the Uganda immigration explain them first that you want only to visit the other side for some hours and you don't want a exit stamp in your passport (or you have to pay again $ 50 for the visa), go to the Congo immigration and explain again, you will have to leave your passport there and pay $ 20 (or more).
It feels a bit like going to one of the East Europeans countries before 1989.
This can change of course anytime, if you are unsure, in Kisoro is shop on the main road near Golden Monkey guesthouse called "Congo Art Shop", the owner can tell you the actual situation.Related to:
Favorite thing: CHURCH! Visitor, welcome and thank God you've made it here. He wants you to know that he loves you and you being here on my page it's miracle. So I'm just asking you to do one thing if you believe in miracle; Pray so that God will save you if not saved yet and that he strengthes your faith if already saved. God bless!!!
Fondest memory: Bunagana, uh the thing that I miss most is the smoked fish market (Imputa). I really miss it and once back, my only desire is to visit it and possibly buy some smoked fishes and bring my memories back.
