This is a restaurant, which is part of a bush complex, that has an atmosphere of a game lounge with lots of trophy heads of African animals. It's located in the outlying suburbs of Lubumbashi. There are ostriches roaming around outside and an African-style gazebo restaurant/bar. The food has a very African flavour. Game meat is served, however one can have big chunks of T-bone steak with gravy which goes well with an ice cold beer. Great over the weekend to relax and chat with friends.
Favorite Dish: Steaks and salads are god here. There are lots of local Congolese dishes that I'm not familiar with, many of which are vegetable stews.

Lost in Katanga, you are happy sometimes find a place that reminds you civilization.
The restaurant of Planet Hollyboom offers great atmosphere and great dining possibilities with a good wine card.
Favorite Dish: Everything on the menu. As it varies a lot, recommending something is difficult since you migh nt ave the same the time you come.
Alo, they make best pizzas in town.

Among the few restaurant were food is eatable in Lubumbashi, Le Centaure offers a good international cuisine. Contrary to many other restaurants, the menu varies quite often, although the preparation is always linked to what you can find in the shopslocally, which is close to nothing.
However, you have the possibility to have a good dinner or a good lunch on the terrasse, served by professional waiters.
Favorite Dish: menu changes often, but their meats and fishes are imported from South Africa. Good quality My best impression is the environment and the fact that we can have dinner outside.

A little bit out of town, as the name can indicate, the Bush Camp is a very good place to be during the weekend. In the middle of a large property, with a farm, giant gardens, there is a huge African house with all western comfort: big bar, lots of tables and big barbecue.
There is only one dish: barbecue. You have a choice of different meats. You choose what you want and pay on the weight of the meat. Salads, starters and side dishes are included. You have to go and pick your meat together with a large choice of dishes at the buffet.
It is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. When you have gone there two-three times, it is always the same.
Favorite Dish: Barbecue, one and only dish.

Good safe food that is cheap. Deep fried chicken and tortilla's among other things. It looks like an american diner on the outside and inside but the food is edible. You can order a two piece chicken meal with chips for about $5USD
Favorite Dish: After eating rice for six months, everything would taste good

This restaurant serves a delicious buffet with meat and local veggies "à la Homer Simpson". The decor is an african hunting cabin: carved wooden beams, tatched roof, copper chimney. The Belgian owner and his wife are very friendly and realy have the restaurant in hand. Only opened on fridays, saturdays and sundays. Better to phone to be sure to have a table. People come from all over to eat here.
Favorite Dish: I went twice and on each occasion I had the buffet. For that price you wouldnt prepare it at home. To local standards it might seam expensive but compared to ours it's cheap. The owner is a butcher by trade so the meat is always of the best quality
