The worse company ever. Not allowed to land in Europe any longer.
If you have to travel to and fro Kinshasa or Lubumbashi, never use Hewa Bora, you might never arrive alive.
Planes are not maintained, they crashes. Once I had to lose two days in Mbuji-Mayi because the plane had a problem and had to land in emmergency.
It is cheaper and safer to use other companies. Most embassies in DRC recommend not to take this airline. Until recently, we had to fly between Kinshasa and Lubumbashi with Kenya Airways (one night in Nairobi) or with SAA (one night in Johannesburg).
Today, new company LAC freights aircrafts from Air Zimbabwe to assure liaison between the two cities

Helpfulness
Until recently, landing in Kinshasa was a real adventure. There was no security and it was not possible to go from the plane to outside the airport without so many problems that you wanted to go back to the plane.
It was highly recommended to have a protocole waiting for you, dealing with immigration for you and takingcare of your baggage.
Today, there are lots of improvement. If it is not yet Occidental efficiency, you can pass through immigration and take your baggage without problem and without having to give dollars.
