Favorite thing: OK. I'll give you one tip on this page. Djibouti is mostly Muslim and they get really paranoid about pictures. The fact that they have lots of foreign soldiers and the security that surrounds that, means they don’t like you to take pictures. So I opened the door of my hotel room veranda one day and took some pictures. You really can see the cross currents of religion, tribes and history just be doing a little bit of people watching from a window.

A: Watch out for land mines, malaria, and AIDS. There is some good SCUBA diving there if that interests you.
