When To Go, best time to see Ancient Egypt?

I was fortunate to go to Egypt on the first week of December, when the temperature was not too hot, and not too cold - just right. My interests were to see the ancient temples around Luxor and Aswan, and these places which are south of Cairo are unbearable during summer, from June to August (SCORCHING HOT, over 40 degrees Celsius). That said, the best time to go to Egypt to see the famous temples is from December to January, during the winter months - naturally this is also the high tourist season, but understandably so. However, around Cairo, there may be overcast skies and cold nights during wintertime. Furthermore, when going to the beaches, people might prefer to go during the summer months when the desire is for bathing under the sun.
