The Nile River

by pangtidor

Nile River absolutely plays a significant role in Egypt history. From the ancient civilization to the present time, it creates the better Egypt. The Nile River view will be a good attraction in the tourism sites, like Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor. Get the Nile Cruise or Dinner Cruise or felluca ride to enjoy the magnificient view at the Nile River. The view of the farms along The Nile River Delta is great too if you are going for the road trip in Egypt.

BELLY DANCING

by pangtidor

Some tour and travel agencies has their own package for the belly dancing class and show. When you are going for dinner cruise on the Nile, belly dancing will be one of the shows performed to the dinners. The good belly dancer usually performs at the end of the show, after the whirl dance and other shows. The good belly dancers in Egypt are much better than the ones perform in other Arab countries.

Tip Photo
The Donkey

by pangtidor

The word donkey is one of the worse words to curse somebody in Arabic world and it used to address the looser anywhere. We gain more respect on the donkeys after seeing what they do in Egypt. They are such cute and hard workers ones. They can do the heavy works at the cane sugar farms in Egypt and will be a good pleasant ride in some tourist sites too. It is just hard to believe that such a little creature can do the numerous bigger things.

Tip Photo
THE BEDOUIN PEOPLE

by pangtidor

The Bedouin people are the ones who live at the desert areas, some even still live in the tents. Many negative thoughts have been there about the Bedouin people because most of the suicide bombers in the tourist sites before were Bedouin. On the contrary, we have met many amazing Bedouins at St. Catherine Monastery area. Our guide for climbing the Moses Mountain was a Bedouin and he was one of the best guides we had in Egypt. When you have more time in Sinai area, try to get the Bedouin dinner tour to explore the Bedouin people more.

Tip Photo
THE EGYPTIAN TEA

by pangtidor

It will be interesting to see how they make the tea in Egypt. They dont like to do it with the teabag. Most of the Egyptians will prefer to drink tea than coffee and sometimes mixing it with the milk. Try the tea with the fresh mint leaves. It tastes good. If you observe the local people, they will spend hours on drinking tea and talking in the cafes. The local word for tea is CHAY.

Tip Photo
THE COFFEE

by pangtidor

The Egyptians are very serious with their coffee so the coffee lovers can expect a very coffee in Egypt. Egyptian coffee is good and their coffee latte is thicker. The Turkish coffee that used to be offered in the restaurants may not be good for some as it has many herbs or spices in it. It will not be difficult to find the coffee anywhere in Egypt. The local word for coffee is QAHWA.

Tip Photo
THE PARADISE FOR SEAFOOD

by pangtidor

The Egyptian seafood is great and could be found easily at the seaside tourism sites like Red Sea areas: Sharm El Sheikh, Hugada, Dahab and Mediteranian Sea area like Alexandria. The beachfront restaurants in those areas will display the fresh fish, shrimps, or calamari in front of their restaurants and you may choose the one you like to be cooked and served on the table.

Tip Photo
SISH TA WOOK, A DELICIOUS ONE

by pangtidor

It is one of Arabic food, the barbeque marinated chicken. It will be served with the fries or the kooboos, Arabic bread. Ask for the Arabic dip, humus – HOOMOOS and the eggplant. The sishtawook will be great to eat with the garlic mayonnaise too. Sishtawook tastes good and a good option for you when you are not familiar with the new kind of food.

Tip Photo
THE KARKADE

by pangtidor

Karkade is a traditional herb beverage of Egypt, made from The Hibiscus Flower, looks like the red grape juice. It is one of my favorite drinks in Cairo. The cold one is better than the hot one. You may bring the Karkade at home. They will sell the Karkade in the spices store, about 10-20LE per 100grams. You will just ask for Karkade or Hibiscus tea, 2 pieces will be enough to mix with one cup of boiled water with some sugar. They used to serve it on the breakfast buffet in the hotels.

Tip Photo
THE LOCAL SCHOOL KIDS TOUR

by pangtidor

The school tour is one of my favorite things to observe in the tourism sites. The kids will be coming in a big group, will be accompanied by their teachers, and some will still wear their uniforms. They are the very happy kids with full of smile and laughter. They will approach the tourists for taking pictures or talking only, without thinking of asking tips from you. Once you agreed on picture taking, all of the group will come and pose with you. At the end the teacher will yell at them to leave you alone and ask your apology for their behavior, which is no problem at all for the tourists I guess. :-)
