Nile cruise boats

As part of our 3 day Nile Cruise, we stopped by Kom Ombo temple for a look.

Cruising into Kom Ombo was an impressive site - seeing the temple all lit up in the distance.

The ship docked up against other similar cruise boats, and we had to walk through the reception area of each boat to get to shore!

The cruise was certainly a relaxing method of transport to take us from one amazing attraction to another!

Kom Ombo - Cruise boat

Kom-Ombo is located about 65 kilometres south of Edfu and 45 kilometres north of Aswan. Tourists usually get there by cruise boats on their way from Luxor to Aswan or on the contrary from Aswan to Luxor.

We reached Kom-Ombo in the evening after a day floating from Edfu. There were almost a dozen other boats, which arrived a little bit before us. That’s why a procedure of mooring repeated as it was in Edfu. We moored to the last boat in chain. Tourists went sightseeing and our boat left the bank to allow other boats to depart. Other boats were making the same…

Jitney Service from Aswan

Minivans parked at the jitney service stop in Aswan depart regularly toward all destinations between Aswan and Luxor. Prices are very cheap. If in transit to Luxor with luggage, be prepared to have your stuff hoisted aggressively atop and strapped down. There is no room for luggage inside the seating compartment, except for your daypack or purse on your lap. This is the way the locals travel, so you can be assured that the jitney will take off as soon as it is full of passengers.
