Where is Nuweiba Airport ? Does Nuweiba have an Airport ?
There is Al Nakb ( now Taba International Airport ) some 85 km away to the north east.
And there is rumoured to be an old airstrip in Nuweiba ( built supposedly by the Israelis ).
And there is the helipad at the MFO station as well as one near the Nuweiba Holiday Village.
But where is the airport ?
Visitors are surprised and confused by this sign - because no one can find the airport !

Is this an old runway used by Israeli military aircraft during the occupation ?
Can anyone confirm that ?

I believe with most Airlianes, Since i live in Israel we share our southern border with Egypt from here we just have to go to Eilat which is the southern city that has a border to Egypt and to Jordan and from there we just have to cross the border.
After crossing the Israeli Border all you have to do is take a taxi BUT one Important fact, Egypt known as a country with the most dangerouse drivers !!!! Its is not a pleasant experience to be in a car with an Egyptian driver, sometimes you REALLY need a strong heart. One more thing, dont think of renting a car there...!!

Theer's no public transport as such running along the Sinai coast except for beaten up old taxis (little suspension) or mini buses. They usually run the whole length of the peninsula, working on the assumption that you are travelling from either Sharm (international airport) or Taba (Israeli border crossing point) to your destination.
Note that if you cross into Sinai/Egypt from Israel without a full visa, the border guards will issue you with a visa that is only good for the coastal road between Taba and Sharm along with the SInai interior tourist spots (so you can;t then make your way to Cairo or other parts of Egypt).

Nuweiba Port, located on the south side of the Nuweiba flood plain, is served by car ferries to Jordan and Saudi Arabia as well as a large fast launch to Jordan.
The launch operates daily to Aqaba and takes 1 1/2 hours whilst the car ferry takes about four hours.

The is road access to Nuweiba from three directions - north, from Taba and the Israeli border, from the west, all the way from Cairo, and from the south, from Sharm el Sheikh and Dahab.
Basically all the roads are not very busy at all, are single lane highways and are generally safe except for some winding curves through the canyons and a very steep slope coming in from the south.
